Free Seeds...

... if you bought the last Sunday Herald...

Sorry, it's too late for you all. I only picked mine up today and found a packet of basil seeds in it! A timely reminder that I still have a lot of sowing to do.

There is also an article on yet another man who's in the public eye (Brian Morton) going for the Good Life:

"This family swapped city delights for toil in the soil ...now they're reaping the benefits of all they've sown"
http://www.sundayherald.com/55624

I've e-mailed him and suggested he should join us - he'd find a lot of familiar problems dealt with! He's in Argyll.

Hi Ina,
It's a while since i've posted on here, but i've been on from time to time for advice, you all seem very busy, I am so behind this year due to the cold weather, I have a huge problem with slugs this year too. Anyway, came on to say Hi and I enjoyed reading the article you posted about the chap in Argyll, I wonder where he is, Argyll covers such a long thin strip of western Scotland, he could be as far south as Dunoon or as Northerly as Oban. Like your wee goat picture. pam.

Hi Pam - good to hear from you again!

Yes, I think we are all behind... The weather was awful, wasn't it? And now it's a bit warmer, and we had quite a dry spell, too - so without watering nothing would have grown at all. I still don't understand how all those slugs survived the cold and drought.

Argyll is a large place, that's right - but I suppose he didn't want to be too specific about the location, to avoid masses of people descending on him!

What are you up to nowadays?
