This fungus has damaged my cucumbers, and acorn squash plants. Some years it does not appear. This year there has been more moisture than usual. Generally I do nothing to control, since all attempts in the past have been failures. One method of inhibiting is to never water the foliage, but one cannot control rainfall. Th spores are always present, and will start growth when ideal conditions are encountered.
