I just tasted my first.......

Puffball! I spotted them last night on the way to my mums, slammed on thebreaks, reversed, leapt out of the car and picked them. Today I fried them in butter and served with eggs and tolouse saussage. Yummy! I'll do that again!

Excellent! I found a couple of baby ones last week, and had them sliced into a salad. I'd love to find a decent sized one though... Yum.

The smaller of the two was about the size of my fist, the other about half as large again. There was another about the size of a cushion but it was past it's best. The flavour was lovely cooked - I didn't realise that they could be eaten raw too.

OH was chopping onions the other day and tried a piece raw for the first time in his life ---- and liked it! He even said he might be able to tolerate a salad if it had raw onions on it

I just tasted my courgette flower stuffed with feta cheese mint chili and parsley, covered in tempura batter and deep fried! Delicious!
