wierd weather
I was pottering in my garden this afternoon and could'nt belive the weather it was 27degrees, pouring with rain, the sun was blazing
, then it decided to hail, it was so hot we stayed out in the wet just to experience it i must admit it was great fun but the humidity wow
it would't suprise me if we get a storm tonight hopefully it may clear the air a bit
Respect to all, be kind to all and you shall reap what you sow.

Re: wierd weather
Seem to have lots of microclimates now...even locally we had hail and 5miles away did not get any. Blackberries are ripe in my garden but not a couple of miles away in the woods! Keeps life interesting, I suppose

Re: wierd weather
Same up here - we've had lovely sunshine all day, with a 20 minute downpour at lunchtime. My daughter works about 2 miles away - rained hard most of the day.

Re: wierd weather
Our weather forecasts for the week/10 days ahead change every day which just goes to prove they haven't got a clue what they are talking about
- plus as GA says, round here it is so localised (especially storms) that the only thing you can do is go outside and look up to tell what the weather is doing. We have big black rain clouds passing us by often with at most 3 drops of rain and loads of thunderstorms rumbling off in the distance, we can even SEE the rain in the distance sometimes whilst we're here frantically trying to do a rain dance and it doesn't work! It's bloody frustrating.
It's been very cloudy this month which has been a blessing! Last Saturday's proper rain is drying out quickly though so I need more as I'm starting to get a green tinge in my lawn!!!!!

Re: wierd weather
Don't talk to my husband about weather forecast. He does wonders why I bother looking at it... This week it was supposed to rain everyday, well we barely got one drop and I ended up watering my poor thirsty garden last night after days of hoping it would be done by the heavens... I would be better off trusting the spiders, generally if I find a big one in the house, it rains a day or 2 later.

Re: wierd weather
Well they got it right today - the severe weather warning that is.
The gales started just before we went to bed and it's still howling around. No tourists in Balnakeil today, methinks
Not if they're sensible anyway

Re: wierd weather
I went to a BBQ in central Brittany yesterday 1.5 hours to the west of us and it was very overcast and quite cool - I wouldn't have minded having a cardi on to be honest! Heading home (east) after a while we could see sun and blue sky in the distance and the car thermometer rising. At home it was lovely and sunny and had been 26.5C so I did all the watering as usual. Yet I'd been walking around on wet grass in sandals (
hate that!) and my friends had mown their grass 3 times in 3 weeks - my husband last mowed our lawn about 2 months ago.
