Hi,
We built a small greenhouse out of lumber using plastic sheeting late last fall. Here's a video clip. The front inclined section and backside have PVC connected to the bottom of the sheet. This allows us to open it up when it gets too hot in the summer here in South Carolina.

I would like to learn from this experience along with your designs to build something even better in a year or two. Please share some pics if you have them.
Regards,
Chuck

Re: Our tiny greenhouse
Small but very perfectly formed, well done. I once got a greenhouse on Freecycle, went and dismantled it from the owner (it didn't have glass in it) and spent ages finding and ordering cheap (ish) twin wall Polyurathane (sorry about spelling!) panels to go in it. Then there was a gale and I woke up and they were spread about a half mile radius from my house.
Looks like yours is much more carefully constructed though!

Re: Our tiny greenhouse
I like the idea of polyurethane...a bit more pricey than plastic sheeting. Did you rebuild/replace after the gale? After building this one my wife and I now have a much better idea of what to add to the replacement version.
I wish we had a southern exposure to add a "lean to" on our house. I think that would be a brillant idea. That would certainly help to keep the temperature above freezing on very cold nights. I think I'll bring this up with the Mrs. as a potential idea.

Chuck
