i will soon be moveing back to macedonia where they dont have sweet potatoes. i love sweet potatoes and want to grow them for us to eat. my husband thinks we can even produce them to sell at the farmers market. the thing is i cant find seed potatoes or seeds to take back, all i can find is cuttings/slips which wouldnt survive the plain journey over there. is it possible to just plant a sweet potato from the supermarket? if i bought organic ones that, i assume, havent been treated with that stuff to provent them germanating? do you just chitt them like normal potatoes, plant them, then i guess cuttings can be taken from the first plants to produce more plants? then cuttings would need to be taken to maintain them over the winter for the next year?
anyone know about sweet potatoes???
sweet potatoe, seed potatoes?
