We've converted part of our 'paddock' into our own allotment and after a couple of years alternating between drought and drowning thanks to very heavy clay soil we've gone to raised beds and success..!! We're dedicated recyclers and the scurge of local builders when we 'raid' their skips (with permission of course) and we also look after and encourage the wildlife - even the deer that keeps nibbling my trees. Also growing in the 2 acre paddock - apart from the 7 fruit trees - is a 40 year old Tulip Tree (which flowers annually), an Indian Bean Tree, a Foxglove Tree and a Black Walnut (the last three are only 7 year old) - I like a challenge..!!Hello from North Cumbria
