Post: # 236258Post giz »

went to get some milk from tescco,, AS you do.. (i dont have my own cows yet lol) SO
any hoo... there is a new thing Jugit, its a Jug funny enough, BUT its for milk that you buy in Bags, therefor saving 75% of the waste i would use if i had the plastic bottles..
OK well I like it, think its a good idea, just hope they keep selling it.
Untill i move again bk to scccotland hopfully next to a farm. then ill be happy..

OK heres the link.. hope you all dont think its just some rubbish..

We had something similar a couple of years ago from Calon Wen. Unfortunately the local supermarket stopped selling the bags so we had to go back to cartons.

I loved the idea except we couldn't recycle the plastic bags here so really I was sending more waste to landfill. Was also a bit messy at times too. Other countries have been doing it for years, we appear to be a little behind the times.

sainsburys did a big push of this a few yeas ago, maybe as many as 5 years? i did buy a couple of jugits and for a few weeks bought the bags, but they only come in 2pts andd as a family we get through 12 - 15 pints a weeks easily, so it was not cost effective or practical to buy milk that way for us - perhaps i should say i was not ready to change my ways to fit it into our lives!

i believe sainsburys still sell the bags though, certainly round here they do :D
