I’ve been a long time stalker on this forum for ages and thought it was about time I put my two pence in!
I live on the Isle of Man (quick geography it’s the little island between Scotland and Ireland
), with my boyfriend, 2 sisters, 3 cocker spaniels, 1 welsh Springer and 3 cats (it’s pretty mad). I’ve had my own little allotment for 2 years now and been a bit lazy and really need to kick myself up the bum to get the most out of it that i can, going to try square foot gardening next year .I’ve been fascinated with self sufficiency for a good 10 years now and have been brought up on the "expensive" self sufficiency with my dad buying half pigs/sheep’s and cutting them up in our kitchen when we were young, and my mum always making homemade jam each year. When I moved into getting a full time job I got a hold of the first 20ish magazines of Practical Self Sufficiency, which are even older than me! From a college and since then I’ve been trying to lead a more self sufficient life. If anyone can get a hold of them they are amazing the second magazine tells you how to make solar panels!!!!!!!
I don’t drink/smoke have no interest in going into a nightclub, and spend all of my time sewing/knitting and up at my allotment so don’t do well making friends my age so would love to make some like minded friends "who understand" on here lol.
Oh and I dream of having my own piece of the world with chickens and an amazing veg patch, then again don’t we all.
I’ll stop rambling now, and start learning lol
