Village SOS
Did anybody catch the trailer at the end of tonight's Village SOS? It looks like next week's episode will be about the Barge at Honeystreet, the pub that Baldybloke, Snapdragon and I went to recently for our Wiltshireisher's meet.
Am I right?

Are you impyling that there may be a causative relationship between your visit and the SOS call?

Re: Village SOS
The two girls were definitely thinking about rescuing a canal side house that was for sale!
Me, I wasn't that bothered due to the fact that it was on the opposite bank to the pub.

Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?

Re: Village SOS
not knowing the prog what 'side' is it on?
House in need of TLC and a bit of cash injection
canoe or a coracle would get you across (possibly need waders to get back though

Re: Village SOS
I wonder if one could be arrested for being drunk in charge of a coracle? There's a thought. It's acaedemic anyway as I invested too much time and energy here to move house.

Re: Village SOS
... and even if you could, are there such things as coracles with blue flashing lights in which to catch you?

Re: Village SOS
Yes Thomzo it is the Barge at Honey Street!I know because we were there maybe 3 months ago and spoke to a lady involved in the pub and she mentioned about the show and how the pub was in one of the episodes.Exciting hey?
Can't wait to see it as its one of our favourite pubs.I watched the first episode (In Wales rebuilding an old mill)and quite enjoyed it.Thought the community spirit was great and the finished building looked fab too,

Re: Village SOS
Yes, I half-watched the first episode which was why I only half saw the trailer for next week so only half-twigged it was the Barge. The mill wasn't half fascinating, I do hope they make a success of it.
For those who missed it, it's on Wednesdays 8pm on BBC1.

Re: Village SOS
Just watched the Barge Inn episode and loved it!I'm abit biased I admit as I do love the pub,but it was nice to see how the story evolved.I spoke to Bev (one of the women involved in saving the pub) a few weeks ago and she mentioned that they will be growing alot of veg out the back of the pub which will be fab.For anyone interested they do have camping in the field behind the pub for £6.50 a night which is handy!

Re: Village SOS
Yes, I saw it as well. I thought the outside looked a bit like a building site when we went but I understand why now. The renevations were so recent and the Honeyfest must only have been a few weeks earlier.
I can certainly recommend it and it sounds like a real selfsufficientish pub.
