It will be interesting to see how the price of solar installations moves once this change comes into force. Here in France it was made very clear that the purpose of the subsidy (and, in our case, tax credits too) was to "prime the pump" for renewables in general to start generating the economies of scale. Early doors as yet, but for once it seems that a government plan might actually stand a chance of working: the tariffs paid by EDF for solar power have been cut, and the cost of installations seems to be coming down in line.
I think this might be good news
