You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

What abput mulled cider? You treat it the same way as mulled wine- easy to do virgin ones too with apple juice. Just add apple juice/ apple brandy/ cloves any other spices. We used to do it as a cheaper alternative to mulled wine at the open studios I used to do. Any old cider will do, but I bet you could make lovely one with some locally sourced something or other!!

I've just seen a couple - one was called Lambs wool - http://12bottlebar.com/2010/12/lamb%E2%80%99s-wool/

The other was butter beer which I rather fancy, more because I'm a Harry Potter fan than for it's taste  - http://12bottlebar.com/2010/12/buttered-beere/

Thanks for the mentions of our recipe. Since you mention mulled wine, here are a couple of traditional Glogg recipes:

Red Glogg: http://12bottlebar.com//2010/12/15/gl%D3%A7gg/
White Glogg: http://12bottlebar.com//2010/12/21/valk ... l%D3%A7gg/

But I highly recommend Charles Dickens's Punch. Amazingly good and Dickens himself created it: http://12bottlebar.com//2010/12/08/char ... nss-punch/

Enjoy!
