Hello everyone from Bristol UK

Post: # 251694Post BrizzleJC »

Hi everyone

I am a total newbie here, after having found you after googling to find out how best to use the paper log maker I have 'stolen' from my parents...( well they last used it 2 years ago so maybe it's just a long term loan!) ..looks like a great forum so I thought I'd sign up.

We are trying to be greener, partly well mostly for environmental reasons but also for financial ones as the less we use and buy the better off we will be and better able to fund the stuff we REALLY want to do.

We live in Bristol, UK which is pretty friendly place with lots of people who care and want to tread lightly on the earth. We consist of my other half, 2 daughters, 4 bantam chickens and a cat. We have PV solar panels and an allotment which was overgrown when we took it over 2 years ago wth brambles but we are getting there... Planted a lot of fruit and nut trees this winter so that'll be good if they thrive. We recycle a lot but for example are always looking into reusing first..hence the paper log making query. We also consume and spend too much....so heres to cutting down!

Well there's a bit about us. Thanks for inviting us along on the journey!

PS gave my other half the Booze for Free book this Christmas..hadn't realised the guy co-founding this site was THE Andy Hamilton :salute:

Hi, welcome

We are close to you - about 25 minutes north of Bristol

We also consume and therefore spend too much and are trying to cut down on both!

Welcome to ISH :flower:

I think if ISH could talk, it would have a Bristolian accent, because there are so many Bristol ISHers!

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hello

Whoops. First post failure as I saved rather than submitted..oh well a newbie error!

Thanks for all your warm wishes. It's great to be here and look forward to dropping in from time to time.

Current dilemma is choosing some seed potatoes. Had reasonable results with Vanessa last year. Am hoping there will be plenty of good advice on some threads here..going off soon to check

Cheers Brizzle

Hi hello and welcome!
Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.
