Fancy a working holiday on the North coast of Scotland?

As many of you will know, we bought a house in the Craft Village for our daughter who has since moved on. It has taken us a year to do the renovations but it is now nearly ready for occupation. It will probably take another couple of months. So we're starting to look at the garden and realised it's too big a job for me (OH works full-time) - it's a bit of a jungle I'm afraid.

We wondered if anyone fancies a couple of months up here helping me to clear the garden and have leisure time in our little corner of paradise. We can't offer any money but you would have free accommodation in the new building (two bedrooms) and we'll pay all the utilities but you'd need to feed yourself (I'll stock it with a few staples and it would be nice to get together for a meal every now and then if you fancy it).

Own transport would be an advantage but I could pick you up from Inverness if necessary - bear in mind we are very remote and public transport is limited.

For anyone who doesn't know where we are Google "Balnakeil Craft Village" and "Durness".

My OH said to put "no axe murderers please" but I know you're all wonderful people

BTW there is a shop attached to the house so you could always use that if you want to sell any arts or crafts. Oh and if you decide you love it up here and want to buy it off us, make us a good offer!

I would love that! Trouble is my Weed patch would suffer if left for that long.
I think leaving my wife and selling the house and buying a VW camper and puutting up to you might be a bit extreme....*although thinks about it seriously......

Got to admit it sounds tempting, but the "no axe murderers" bit rules me out
But more seriously it's a shame I wouldn't be able to get that much time off work, or away from other commitments, sounds like it'd be a great time.

Much water has passed under the bridge since I started this thread. My daughter came back; we opened a bakery; my Mother died; we closed the bakery and my gal moved back in with us. I'm now a landlord (never saw that one coming) with a tenant who is quite keen on sorting the garden. Thankfully.
