Elderflower wine advice please!

Post: # 264714Post prison break fan »

In June I made eight gallons of elderflower wine. It has cleared really quickly and tastes pretty good at just about six weeks old. What I would like to know please, is when can I drink it? Thanks all in advance. pbf.

Let's see ...

It's stopped fermenting.
It's clear.
It tastes good.

I'd leave it for a year, pbf.

(NOOOOO!! - Just kidding. Drink it NOWWWWWWWWWW!).
As you well know

PS - there's no guarantee that a wine will improve with age. It probably will, but if it tastes good young, why give it even the tiniest chance to deteriorate?

PPS - Eight gallons, though. Hmmm. Put two away for a year, put two aside for immediate-ish consumption. That leaves four in reserve to drink at any time in between.

PPPS - you DID mean wine, not champagne?

Thanks very much MKG. what's the difference between wine and champagne? I think it's just wine, but hey ho who cares! Off to open a bottle, it will never last a year, not in our house. Cheers pbf.
