Post: # 31065Post Andy Hamilton »

As we have had the UK time for a list of what is great down under. I have never been so can't put much but will make a start.

1. Nev and all the other selfsufficientishers from down there
2. Grass roots magazine
3. Neighbours (ok you hate it but we love it, even if we don't all admit it)
4. Kangaroos (kangaroo burgers are well nice)
5. Duck billed platipus - great creature

the weather
"proper" barbies
miles and miles and miles of space with nobody in it (apart from a few sheep)
beaches you can only dream of
the Great Barrier Reef
those boots with elasticated sides (I bought a pair there and wore it to bits in about 12 years - I know you can get them here, but they are a different make and not as good!)

Ina - do you mean the RM Williams boots?? We ordered some from Australia (yes I know.... boot miles) and they were cheaper than you can buy them for over here... and yes, they do last for ages and ages. Nice clothes too.

I loved....

The biiiiiiiiiiiiiig beaches
The fish and prawns that were worth eating
Fantastic views
Definately the plonk
Cheap restaurants with great food
All the folks I met there...not one of them was rude about the little pom!
Eumundi Market Queensland ~ the biggest Mangos and Paw Paws ever.
ICE COLD BEER

And the fact that I will try to get back before I snuff it.
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!
