Found this website. Covers just about everything. A little dry in places, but a thorough introduction all the same. The prose is a little old-fashioned (IMHO). Oh yes, there's a chemistry lesson too.

It doesn't cover the use of the hydrometer in as much detail as the Berry tome, and, if you're looking for recipes this really isn't the place to look.
