Calendula cream :) its a natural remedy made from pot marigolds and very good for treating skin infections.

check you're not sensitive to it first, then use Tea tree oil, either neat or dilute in something like almond oil - in theory, garlic juice should be good too, but a bit niffy! :cooldude:

Amateurs encouraged - very keen prices and friendly helpful service!

I know this sounds silly, but are you sure it's athelete's foot?

DH had been treating his on and off for years and eventually I nagged him and went to see the doc. And although it looks like AF, it's not, it's foot excema. And apparently it's getting very common because of the cheap and nasty glue that's being used to hold our shoes together.

Just a thought.

Assuming it is athelete's foot, it takes six weeks or thereabouts to get rid of it because it grows right down to the base layer of skin, so stick with it. Once it seems to be clear then you need to wash all your footwear at 60C or hotter to inactivate the spores -yes, it makes spores - or dust them with something fungicidal. I can recommend you stuff but it's all "orthodox" medicine I'm afraid.

thankyou.

I tried some tea tree oil, but it was the itching!! So i bowed to the itch and went to the chemist.

I'm going to spray the insides of all my shoes with tea-tree and water to hopefully kill the fungus in them.

Grr...normally i spend my summers still wearing big boots...the one summer i wear flip-flops...

I'll keep and eye out and see i it gets better/worse with the cream, and if not, i'll go see the doctor and ask about foot excema.

Thanks guys!!
