One of those days
I got it into my head this morning that it was going to be one of those days as my internet connection at home stopped working and I could not fix it. I got up late (no real change there) no milk left, no butter left, no eggs so not much breakfast (just an avacado in the end). Post came and it was just bank statements telling me how overdrawn I am.
Got on the local train as I have pulled a muscle and can't cycle to work.I found that I only had £1.20 in my pocket it is £1.40 return and they would not take my debit card.
So I pulled in at the station needing to get cash out and get some food, only £10 available in my account and both machines were £20 notes only. Then I walked over to the big supermarket to use my card bought some sandwhiches and it was not until I was outside that I realised they had given me a carrier bag... ahhh.
Got to work and was told that my employment acency had not recieved my timesheet from last week and so I won't get paid and despite the fact that the fax report says it was sent there is nothing they can do about it was my fault for not ringing through and ensuring that they recieved it. and yes I did swear at them, did not help.
Luckily Dave gets paid monthly and so can afford to pay me a weeks wage in advance so don't worry I won't be penniless next week. Will try and post about one of the good days that do happen at some point to counter act this one. Phew feel better for getting all that off my chest.

We had a crap Friday too.
Glad that Dave can bail you out for a bit... but what a pain that your work wouldn't pay you at least something to tide you over... Aren't there other employment agencies that you could work for?? :)

My imediate thought, although they are normally pretty good and I get sick pay, holiday and even a pension scheme - but not so good is the no pay thing.Shirlz2005 wrote:We had a crap Friday too.

Muddy - I used to regually have 2 weeks without cash or food it was called being on a giro then I progressed to being paid monthly and still not having any money for weeks on end. I remember one week living off busicuits and not much more, I am sure my blood sugar was all over the place was close to fainting a lot. - Got a bit better at managing my cash now though. It is surprising how little cash you can spend and still get by ok, if only I'd have known about wild food when I was younger.

I reckon it's something in the air, everyone I know has had a crap day in the last week!
Living on dangerously low amounts of dosh is never good. Those of you with kids know how frustrating and worrying it can be, when it's not just you that needs feeding etc. My OH works for agencies when he's not landscaping. At the moment he's off work ill ~ no work....no dosh. Tighten those belts!
Positive vibes everyone...it's just a glitch in the planets and things can only improve.

I've had a "good lord, the woodwork must be totally empty!" sort of day!
There was I, bit in my teeth, having a gentle verbal savage of some illiterate snake oil salesman on a forum of my acquaintance!

-and the 'phone rang - he garbled out some company name, and said he was looking for a company to supply and fit wind turbines (plural)- "like those in B&Q"- silly man! - I told him that we were an ethical company, and wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot bargepole, and was kind enough to politely point out why - he then came back with "but people want them" - so I replied, that with luck, not for much longer - "well, you could get them to sign a disclaimer".............

I gently told him that I was very sorry, I wouldn't be party to such a scam, and that apart from anything else, I could not face a client, knowing that they probably hadn't had a night's sleep ever since I installed it! - honestly, I tell no lie, he said "well, you could tell them to use the stop switch, and put it back on in the morning" - at that point I terminated the call with alacrity!

last week our cooker broke the toaster broke the kettle broke and the van is leaking oil, yippee however it did force me to build a new shed rip out half the kitchen and try and finish all the little jobs that need to be done around the house, just painted the kitchen cupboards today they now finally are all the same colour.
