101 ways to recycle computer monitors

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

3) Put in on top of the wardrobe, where it will act as an attractive but useful dust trap (this from personal experience).

4 Handy as a paper weight for those extra bulky bills!!

5 Stick a picture of a fish on it and tell the kids you got them a new pet

6 Put it on the table in the front room and stare at it regularly - it looks like a TV and is about as interesting
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

8.Remove workings, remove an adequate number of bricks from house wall, insert and tell kids its a new 24 hour reality show. "Keep watching, it's like real life in a street near you!"

LOL - Now that could be pretty funny. It could be a right belly laugh watching the goings on round here. It's no street... just a mob of crazy characters basically ballsing things up in the bush and learning as they go. Am tempted to try it, but figure they'd all just sit round and laugh at me while i work!!!

Moving on from number 5 - there was a bloke who took his TV apart, put a fishtank in it and had a 'tv tank'. you could probably do the same with a monitor...

9. See if your local college or University wants them.

We quite often are short of old VGA monitors in the lab (they are used for students to learn on, and for machines that don't need a high-resolution display)

10. Turn them into a rubbish bin (looks a bit dangerous)

Dump them in the dining room to see how long it takes your wife to rant, curse and ask for you to get rid of the things. Then wait to see how long it takes her to move them herself and whine that she's dumped them in your garage.
