Torchwood - Any good?

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

Torchwood - Any good?

Post: # 42381Post Andy Hamilton »

I have been watching Torchwood since the first episode, like Doctor Who it is good with the occasional moment of pointlessness, but I stress overall I really like it. Emma hates it, any other thoughts?

I like it, my OH (also Emma) isn't too sure but will tollerate it if it's on. The first episode she saw was one of the less good ones though.

I like it. Some not bad story lines and infinitely better than Robin Hood.

I've never heard of it - I don't really do telly.... although I did watch Jam and Jerusalem the other day as I was recording it for a friend whose satellite dish had blown down - and I did enjoy it... !!

Quite enjoyed torchwood,im a bit of a sucker for si-fi , but some of the dialouge is a bit cringe'y. Think robin hood is "stage'y & sh*t!! A.

Its completely gross, pointless car crash TV..............

And its the only think we'll stay up after 10pm to watch!!!!

But then again we've also taken to watching Brainacs - science abuse!!! Again completely pointless but highly amusing (for those with a wierd sense of humour) and bizzarely informative!!! Not one to let my son watch - he booby trapped a party popper when he was 6 so its best not to give him any expolsive ideas!!!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I watch it sometimes. My teenage son pleads with me to let him stay up and watch it. He's always glued to the screen.

I love to hate it too! It's quite entertaining, but I'd rather be tucked up in bed with a book. Sad eh?

Oh no! Don't let your teenage son tell my teenage son that he's allowed to stay up for it, otherwise I'll be in big, big trouble!

I really enjoy it actually, bit of a sci-fi fan secretly- it's been missing from the tv schedules for far too long, much prefer unreality tv! Captain Jack is a bit of a star- if he can't die, why does he always let one of the others walk into dangerous situations first?-watch you'll see! he always does. He seems a bit of a hoot in realife, devilishly attractive, knows his effect on the female gender yet having a civil partnership later in the year. He's quite happy to poke fun at himself too. I can't wait for the next series of Dr Who, apparently there's going to be a Tourchwood tie in this series, so maybe we'll see Cpt Jack ther too.

Kind thoughts
Deb

I'm pretty addicted to it too. But I am a sucker for good sci-fi.

And mediocre sci-fi.

And to be honest quite bad sci-fi so maybe I'm not the best judge...

Torchwood is popular in our house as well, we started watching mainly because it is filmed in South Wales and my beloved fancies the girl who plays Gwen, we also like trying to work out where the locations are - as most of it was filmed in our corner of Wales - sad I know !!

She is quite fanciable that Welsh policewoman.... how sad is that that I even said it! Still, properly female looking women are so uncommon on TV these days .....
