Many thanks all , sorry for the belated reply. And lack of SSish activity , its nothing personel!

My life is currently ballistic.

Work... well as Andy once said most of the SSish activity is during office hours, and mostly I've not been in the office, we've had a lot of problems at customers so in the last 2 months I've left a carbon print the size of Wales!. (I've done 5000 business miles in 2 months, and flown to Ireland twice and Germany once.)

Then I'm under strict orders to get the house ready (painting, re plumbing, doing the bathroom up etc...) for the up coming hols as I'm cooking for 6 on Christmas day and we've 30 coming round on Boxing day.

And to top it off I've been busy down the Lottie every moment I can!

Lottie up date

Ive roughtly cleared half the plot, dug over and weeded a 6th, and put weed supressent down. Over the hols i'm building raised beds as i've since found out it floods at my end of the site (Guess thats why the roads called Ponds field Road!!!!)

I've reroofed my little (very little ) shed, and painted it, roughtly laid some flags I managed to blag, reposted and raised the gate, hacked back the brambles and had lots of bonfires

I think I may have gone mental with my seed order. Just got too excited.

I've started my Aquadulce Broad beans and garlic in pots while I'm on with making the raised bed.

Well hopefully this will fill you in while I get my life sorted. I hope to get back in the correspondence soon...well after xmas anyway.

Oh Stoney et al I managed to make a very limited batch of Perry, which is excellet , but wont last one more night!.

I was very let down by a large number of people who all promised me apples. I only have 3 carrier bags , which i am going to do over christmas, probably ony make a gallon or so. I have however made a gallon of sloe wine , and a gallon of sloe gin!. It was meant to be for Christmas prezzies, but the frosts came too late this year. I shall save it for next years prezzies, and it'll be all the better for it!.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all.

So you know how great Salsify is as a veg, what about Cavero Nero, great leaves all through the winter , then in Spring sprouting broccolli like flowers! Takes up half as much room as broccolli
