Collective nouns

Post: # 49320Post Paddy's mum »

Youngest daughter and I were chatting this morning, when a little posse of local children passed by. She wondered what the collective noun would be and suggested a 'giggle of girls'. I then suggested a 'bash of boys'. This caught our imagination and off we went. Here are a few of our ideas -

a chaos of kids

a chatter of children

a sulk of teenagers

an exhaustion of young mothers

I'm quite sure ishers can add to that list in very short order!

We had a similar thing on site one day and came up with:

A brew-up of builders

A sweep of labourers

A hod of brickies

A puddle of plumbers

A flash of sparkies

A bag of chippies

A stand of surveyors

A muddle of managers!!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
