I wouldn't worry about the nasty responses. I get upwards of a score a week and simply delete them, although yesterday was a bit of downer with 14 nasty comments.

The real problem with comments is the spam. Wordpress, which I use, has a very effective spam filter but it sometimes blocks legitimate comments which means wading through lists of filth now and again to check that nobody has been incorrectly blocked. Sigh.

how do you start a blog chaps? been thinking about it for a while, i've kept a diary for over 20 years though i've never actually read any of the old ones which is a bit daft perhaps a blog with pics would be more interesting.
