my plumber came into the kitchen to update me on his progress with the new boiler this afternoon as informed me that he was so sorry, but he'd have to trail pipes around the top of my kitchen to get the gas from the inlet up to the new boiler (a replacement for the condemned back-boiler) and did I mind that they'd be copper.
 mind? i gazed in wonderment around my fugly kitchen and said "do you think they'll mess up my wonderful décor?!" he told me that many women see the boilr in the catalogue and are then shocked to see that there are pipes coming from it once it's fitted... what planet are these customers living on??! i said " didn't care if they were gingerpink with purple spots so long as they do the flipping job!!!" we laughed, i made yet more cups of strong sweet tea and we all enjoyed a home made mince pie.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Can't he bury them in the wall? I'm one of those people who can't bear to see a pipe or electric cable - thankfully all the houses I've lived in in France have everything hidden, and boilers are always in basements or cellars anyway where pipework on display doesn't matter!

Anyway as long as you are warm and you don't mind, then that's all that matters!

burying them would mean hacking off all the plaster and my landlord having to pay for a plasterer which after he's forked out for the boiler I'm not sure he'd do lol! honestly, once i post pics of my kitchen you'll see there's no way they could make it look worse.

yummy! Only in a rented house can you get something like that  I quite like a lot of the dated stuff, especially if it was well built at the time. So long as it all works and your warm and happy then it's all worth it.

Tradespersons usually have a special tool to accommodate situations where the householder doesn't want trunking/boxing or chasing out etc - it's called a magic wand!!!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I like the pipes. they just add to the overall holliday chalet-style décor.
plumbers are all done. they would have carried on to tomorrow but one of their wives is getting induced to labour tomorrow as she's overdue and he didnt want the job to carry on so he'd miss that so I had 4 plumbers all over my house for most of today trying to get it finished.

I'll be enjoying the fruits of their labours later on when I have a hot bath and glass of hooch in my warm bathroom.
