Sweet-peas

Post: # 80071Post Annpan »

I have loads of sweet-pea seeds that I have been unearthing.

They were far to crowded in my garden last year and I started thinning them today. They seem to be reproducing at an amazing rate. I have no idea what variety they are, they got nice and tall (6' approx.) usual colours... pink, purple, white (as far as I remember :? )

They have already sprouted a little but I feel sure they will survive an excursion in an envelope.

I'll split them into 20 seed lots... or more if you like.

Any offers?

I need veg seeds, but will accept other nice things.

I would like some as I love sweet peas and amazingly they did really well up here last year but not sure what nice thing I have to swap....if I can find my stash of seeds (we have moved house twice in two years so everything is a bit mad still) I have a few interesting things in there, not veg but some unusual herbs and things if that is any good?

Great guys.

I have plenty, so if there are anymore takers, there is enough to go around.

Could you all PM me with your addresses. I'll stick them in the post when I get the chance

Esther - great, just whatever is good

Old Tree Man - sounds lovely if you don't mind sharing them.

Tea - Get your kids to draw me a picture of a rainbow or something else lovely, my livingroom walls are disturbingly drab and bare, and I have some empty clipframes kicking about.

TG - I have very few seeds, I am only entering my second year of growing veg and have yet to have what anyone would call a 'collection' here's what I have:-

Beetroot - some Alan Tichmarsh organic ones, the seeds all got wet last year, so I don't know if they are even viable for this year

Lettuce - some variety of iceberg, wasn't all that tasty.

Spinach - quick growing (apparently)

Onion - 2 types of red onion, never grew last year

Tomatoes - some crappy ones... 'millionaire' or something, I only found out they were crappy after I bought them.

Basil - fine, but didn't last long.

Shallots - bought in Autumn sales

Asparagus - also bought in Autumn sales

Lemon grass - Christmas gift, I don't know if it'll grow in this country at all. :?

I was hoping for a much more productive year this year... I will certainly take anything tasty (pref easy to grow... for the novice that I am  ) And I don't have a greenhouse or tunnel (yet) just some giant cloches... so nothing too big.

Cheers all

Esther, I have PMd you.

The snow here is 3 inches just now, and it is snowing heavily. Just heard that the motorway (which is about a mile away) is down to one lane...

Might be a few more days before I get those seeds in the post, as I left most of them in the ground for safe keeping... won't take long to un-earth them, just not sure how many feet of snow they will be under by the morning

Hope everyone is cosied up, nice and warm.

Right everybody

I eventually got my act together and unearthed and packed the seeds, my fingers got really cold... brrrr. Anyway I have wrapped them in wet newspaper and plastic bags, so I hope they will get to you safely.

I still have millions more, so any other takers?

Let me know how they do please.

Oh Tea

Well, still pop those in a pot of compost quick... you will have twice as many next year. In the mean time, I'll have a look and see if I can dig up any more... though it might be better to leave it till autumn when I can dig up the dormant seeds.

Good luck with those 4... were the others smashed to smithereens or is there a chance of them taking (pop them in the pot too... you never know)

Sorry

Cheers for the sedds TG... has practicly doubled my seed colection  looking forward to some tasty veg
