Courses on textiles

Post: # 85420Post QuakerBear »

Having been inspired by the home died and spun wool on the above post I'd like give spinning a go.

However I can't for the life of me find any where that teaches it. So does anyone know of courses in the Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, London area?

Thanks.

See if you can find a local Spinning or Weaving Guild. If they don't offer courses themselves, they'll know someone who does, and they often have meetings and talks.

the guilds round here are an expensive hobby - 20 to 30 £ per quarter membership,
I recommend you read This Site for loads of very good tips
Alternatively would you like a handful of fleece to start to play with? I'm not far from Surrey

P.S. those weren't rabbits on the link you posted, they were tribbles.

You've discovered my secret shame.

There are lots of things that I'd quite easily come out of the closet about, but I don't think I'd be able to manage it with this little one. You do realise that now you are aware of my little problem you'll never find out my true identity.

Nod Nod pm me QB and give me a clue what part of Surrey cos I'm at t'other side of Hants and need to know which roads to choose
If it's persisting down with rain however I shall be going nowhere

Have to admit I just posted the link 'cos I still had it from when I started spinning last year, and needed information on washing the raw fleeces

I loved the tribbles - but never got the hang of klingon - even though I worked with a fluent klingon speaker for years
