Oh MrsF - I do with I was a clever at sewing as you are! I can just about manage to turn my old towels into dish cloths with the aid of a sewing machine!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I adore that fabric. Your pint-sized models look pretty cute too.

The dress - I remember as a child, our kitchen walls were papered with the same pattern!
Very awful but it looks so cute and lovely on your little girl .... still wouldn't want it on my walls!

Hawthorn: you may ask. Jumble sales and charity shops. Sometimes I see a bargain remnant in a "proper" materal shop or on ebay, bu it's generally whatever I can find for 20p at Tea's local church lol! I also use shirts; hawaiian shirts come in so many funky fabrics. my hubby gets first dibs and if he doesn't think he can wear it I get it for the "bits" box.
In shops I go for cotton, Percale or polycotton sheeting and curtains. They wash well and are easy to wear. anything where I can't find what the fabric is made of I will wash before sewing to make sure it wont shrink.
most sheets will have been washed loads so I don't pre shrink them (hot wash) I just wash on a normal wash to get out the smell of charity shops; old lady, mustyness, cheap air freshener and mould generally !

Sky; hahaha! I love that fabric but I don't think I could stand it on a wall!!!

Just had a look in the bed linen cupboard and the duvet cover is still there and not on the little beauty with beads around her neck.

 my mum in law had to look twice at this top and jeans

Image

she and my fil had sheets in the same pattern in the 1970s, only it was green. she asked me if I'd been through my fil's airing cupboard and then dyed the material. I said nope and showed her that we have my fil's pillowcases still intact, but he has the sheet and duvet cover.
that's the material I used for the other side to the yellow dress; I got 2 single sheets and 4 pillowcases in Cancer Research just before xmas

I really do have to object to the child slave labour exhibited by Mrs F. That girl is so obviously hard done by (you can tell by the way she looks like she's enjoying the whole thing - it's plain to see that she's being bullied into doing it). Shame on you, Flibble!!!.

P.S. Can we all come and live there?

You know when you post something and then wish you hadn't? Just in case, my last post was intended to be complimentary. Well, it was pub quiz night ....
