Flowering rhubarb

I am new to allotment growing and my rhubarb is flowering! PLease let me know if this is normal, etc, etc

I find mine flower when I havent got round to giving them any manure. I think its their way of saying 'Oi, were hungry'. So I put on some manure and chop their heads off. :shock: ww.
