Swede

Post: # 102345Post hamster »

We got a swede in the veg box and I can't think of anything to do with it except mash or soup, both of which seem far too wintry. Does anybody have any inspiration?
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

It is a bit of a wintry veg... We always cooked it in chunks, mixed with chopped onion and some bits of carrot, seasoned with caraway.

It can be quite nice raw, grated in a salad or coleslaw perhaps. Or cut into matchsticks for a stirfry?

I grate it into salads and it does make a really nice addiction to coleslaw.

also good grated with a carrot then doused in a dressing of lemon juice, good oil, garlic, coriander, chilli and cardamom.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Is Israeli couscous in any way different from normal couscous?
