Welcome Jane! I have such a woodburning stove. But I think a baking oven is better solution if you want to use it for house heating. In this picture you can see both. Beetroot - I shred and puree them and feed them to the dogs (together with raw meat). There are also very nice salads with beetroot.

A little up-date: I bought a little farm with an old blockhouse. No chemicals on the field since 7 years - acc. to EU or local (?) rules or laws, that means it's 'officially' good for organic growth. :cheers: I'll continue to work for salary (to pay off the loan...) and start the gardening for hobby...

Yeah that's what I thought too when I saw the flower first time. And yes, so far it has been hardy! and last winter was far colder for a few weeks. Some days were close to -30. It somewhere said for this plant "hardiness: USDA Zones 4 - 8". I dunno what these zones mean... !?!
