I like "the survival podcast" and the "quick and dirty" podcasts you can get on itunes. And if you do a search there are always free audiobooks you can download.

I am making a new raised bed for veg, and I had a question. I need to buy some top soil, but I was wondering if instead of buying some I could bring some woodland soil in. Seed Trays

I'm sure there is probably a thread for this, but I couldn't find anything. Can I use small plastic containers, like water bottles, butter containers, yogurt containers etc, to plant seeds in instead of buying seed trays? And what else could I use, I'm already making the newspaper seed starter pots.

How long to season firewood

How long should you season sweet chesnut firewood, 1, 2, or 3 years? What is best? And what about oak, they say to season it for 1 year, but does it get better if you season it for 2 or more? I've been looking for a website that might have all this information, but I can't find anything.
