I know with citrus fruit most seeds will grow something but not all of them will produce fruit. Not sure what the hit rate on other trees are. I took a bit of exception that the ones quoted in the article wern't vegan - I'm sure many are. I know I used to work in catering, and we did throw a lot of stuff out.
