BGG 2009 anyone?

Do you know about an event that you want to talk about? Is there a campaign you have started, are involved in or want to start? Inspired by Marvin Gaye this is your place to tell the world what's going on.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you guys, really wanted to go this year, but things namely money and the ex got in the way so we couldn't. Hoping that everything gets cleared up tomorrow and looking forward to seeing your photos

Ok Emma, I'll save it and if it does go ahead then we'll have another Isher picnic, if not, then we'll think of something! :)

If it gets cancelled this year I think it's dead for ever to be honest :(

I will be gutted. As last year I was determined to go then it didn't go ahead. Now this year I've made plans, and turned down an option to spend the summer house sitting in the Alpujarras because of BGG and now it might not go ahead!! Grr. It's all because I want to go I tells ya.

Emma, if you don't mind please could you not consider going to either BGG or Beautiful days next year, as fingers crossed we may be able to afford both of them then, and if your the one jinxing BGG then I feel that it's only fair.

Either that or just don't tell anyone your plans, then we might be safe still!

Bad news guys:

Dear Friends, following threatened injunction proceedings in High Court by Mendip District Council supported by Somerset & Avon Police and having taken extensive advice from a prominent QC and other eminent lawyers, the directors of the Big Green Gathering have been left with no other option than to voluntarily surrender the license for the Big Green Gathering 2009. The event will now not take place and the directors' advice and request is that no one intending to attend the event should attempt to do so, as the site is now closed and they are likely to be turned away by Somerset Police. It is our intention to avoid any form of confrontation or public disorder in regard to this and it is our earnest hope that all those involved will follow this advice. It is with great sadness that we have been forced into this position and we express our profound apologies to all those concerned. The Directors of The Big Green Gathering

Anyone else think that this is a bit too convenient?

Campsite in WSM anyone?

Does anyone have contact details for Clara? Or know when she's likely to get to WSM?

What about Wolfsong - did he start travelling from France?

I vote Ish Festy!

Hi Fee

Tommy and I are going to the Rose Tree Touring park from tomorrow night then we leave there next Tuesday. It's £12 a night per pitch which I think means one tent and two people, although it is a no children site. We are definitely going there tomorrow and Tuesday however if something better comes along, please text/call and let us know and we may move on. Basically we're just going to have a holiday instead!

Edit: just noticed that its actually for 25 year olds and over (hope nothing dodgy/swingery going on there!!!).

£5 a night per person.

5 miles south of WSM - £6-£20 a night, doesn't say how much at the moment.

Don't know how much...

Right - for those Ishers that can get to Weston Super Mare on Wednesday/Thursday/The Weekend, the ex-BGG Ishers are attempting to organise a meetup at a campsite!

THe campsites sugeested so far are:

http://www.westendcaravan.com/booking.html
http://www.dulhornfarmholidaypark.co.uk/
http://www.cheddarcamp.com/page4.htm
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/detai ... revid=4824

Whichever one is preferable for most people looks good...

*yoinked it from the Ish FB group*

Have heard from Clara, so she knows that BGG is cancelled, thankfully!
Haven;t heard from Wolfsong, so does anyone know whether he actually left France to travel?

Hey all, yes I'm back in the UK, and havheard the awful news.
3 of us here trying to work something out... looks grim...
I'll hunt around, there was rumour of something going down in salsbury.
I'll post back in a while, after hunting (only just got back online, spent yesterday an today geting over, so I'm in th mood to storm the council offices ATM :angryfire: :cussing: :brave: :cussing: :angryfire: )
As I ping from tree to tree I wonder... why do I seem to have transformed into a pinging tree-dwelling thing?

FestivISH (its official...we're trying o set up Mini-ISH festival...) will eb going ahead somewhere around WSM area as soon as we find a campsite that we can all get into.

If anyone's there, please have a look about, we need somewhere that's not too expensive, and that children are allowed to.

Any other Ishers - come along!
