Two more mouths to feed

Post: # 102953Post mrsflibble »

I didn't know whether to stick this in here or in the reduce, reuse, recycle bit seeing as their house is made form totally recycled/re-purposed materials.

We have guineapigs.
James and I built them a home with our own fair hands.

The Guineapigarium

consists of 1 roll of turf, 1 old fireguard and the bed box. plus more wire fencing we had left over from the front garden.

their housebox

1 wooden box with a hinged lid
some left over wood-effect vinyl from the bathroom
1. chain lock found in the shed (put on so they can't open the lid)

Chocolate

Chocolate was chosen by me but named by sophie, Philip was chosen by james and named by me. I asked soph what she wanted to call them and she said "brown one, chocolate" so the name stuck 'cos she was so cute about it.

no I am not growing them for food, but it IS a good idea.
oh, and there's now a bit more wire fencing to stop them chewing the bottom of the shed.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

gotta love wikipedia
Because guinea pigs require much less room than traditional livestock and reproduce extremely quickly, they are a more profitable source of food and income than many traditional stock animals, such as pigs and cows; moreover, they can be raised in an urban environment.
Ideal for urban food

I don't think James would ever forgive me if I ate his furbabies. surprisingly he didn't want any more pets, but he seems to love the piglets more than I do!!!
