Apple & Pear Spread?
I have some very tired-looking apples and pears and thought I'd try making a Suma-style apple and pear spread. Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe for that sort of thing?
Thanks
Thanks

I think it would involve a very long cooking time, with constant stirring...MrsD'ville wrote:I have some very tired-looking apples and pears and thought I'd try making a Suma-style apple and pear spread. Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe for that sort of thing?

apple and pear spread well nearly....
Hi there,I have a recipe for apple and cinnamon jam use half sugar to fruit and chuck in a large dose of cinnamon( I put a heaped teaspoon) just as you reach setting point and jar as normal. It is not too sweet as I used cooking apples but the sugar was there but you don't need too much of it on your toast and you could use half pear half apples.......
Grow it,make it ,eat it, drink it and sleep well!

That's a nice idea, thank you - I love cinnamon. Unfortunately I've not got round to doing anything with them and they will shortly be past all use whatsoever! Work tomorrow morning, DD's sports day in the afternoon, but I might get round to it on Saturday...
