Need a bike

Post: # 108969Post mrsflibble »

I have 24" inside leg, am 4'8" high and according to Halfords I need a kid's bike with 24" wheels (not an adult bike with 24" wheels lol!!)

Will pay up to £30, or give combination payment such as £20 plus a cake, some rosemary cuttings, an aloe vera and a pot of softsoap.

Needs to be in the essex or north west/east london area (hubby works betweek Acton and Willesden and commutes ;) ), can collect from the london meet too.

please help!!!

I have an old bike you can have for free if you're willing to do some work to it. It needs a new saddle and there's something wrong with gears and the back wheel, and no-one on Freecycle wants it (ironically, as it's a free cycle.... sorry..... ). It is an adult bike, but I'm only 5'2" and it's quite small and the seat definitely went down a bit lower than I had it.

I know it's not quite what you want, but as I say, I just want to give it away, so I'm happy to bring it to the London meet and you can have a try and if it's no good you or I can give it to someone else.

I suggest you get a second opinion - don't just listen to halfords - IME they know very little about bikes

I've tried adult bikes, I can't ride them 'cos they're all too high. can't remember what size my old one was and really can't afford a new bike. I've tried my sister's, she's the same height as me and has a 24" wheel on a kid's chassis. I've also tried my mum's which is a 24" wheel on an adult chassis and promptly fell off 'cos I couldn't reach the pedals lol!!!
