Cinnamon toast with strawberries

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Cinnamon toast with strawberries

Post: # 113490Post sleepyowl »

A not very healthy but quick, easy & absolutely gorgeous

serves 4 as a light dessert

4 slices of white bread (sorry but it it isn't quite as nice with wholemeal unfortunately)
3 dsp of butter
4 tsp of soft brown sugar
2 tsp of cinnamon
2 handfuls of strawberries
dollop of clotted cream on each to serve

Cream the sugar, cinnamon & butter. Cut the strawberries in half. Toast the bread on one side turn it over & spread the cinnamon butter on & place under the grill until the cinnamon butter begins to caramelise. Remove from griil & cut diagonally into quarters. Pile on the strawberries & dollop on the cream & serve. Works well with raspberries & blueberries as well. Cinnamon toast also tastes good on it's own if you run out of sweet things & you are having a cup of tea on a rainy afternoon.
