Hello Land Lubbers

Post: # 117075Post Cpt Drinkloads (Rtd) »

Helo everyone, my name is Dave, I live on a narrowboat on the Staffs & Worcs canal (and that is a narrowboat not a long boat or a barge), she is 45ft long and I live onboard full time. I do not have any land at all, I do have a mooring but choose not to use it, so I move to a new location every 1-2 weeks. Have just found the site and spent a couple of hours going through the topics.

I generate all my electrickery through the engine, which I run for an hour every other day, which gives me enough power to last 2 days, and a tank of hot water that also lasts 2 days. I have to watch what electrickery I use so I mainly use candles at night, or dont bother unless I am reading. I do have a tv but only use it for watching DVD's as a treat on a Saturday night if I am not going out.

I can be found at any pub, propping up the bar, with a pint of bitter clutched tightly to my chest, and raising it slowly and frequently to my mouth. If you find me tottering about outside a pub, please piont me in the right direction of my boat.

I do have a few ideas for planting on the roof but fear I have left it too late this year, unless you dear people have any suggestions.

Take care

Dave

Hiya Cap'n. Love to go for a pint & a mardle (here on the Broads). Full ahead!!! (from a ex-trawler engineer).
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Hi Dave and welcome.
Never too late for a box of rocket. I'd say it would do well on your roof, unless the albatrosses get it.

Bring us back a parrot.

hello capt'n!

We so nearly became canal house boaters, we would have bought the lovely but tatty frogmore if the loan hadnt been refused, and then before we could rectify that i fell pregnant and we changed ourmind!

I wonder where the beautiful frogmore is now?
There is no other organ like the uterus. If men had such an organ they would brag about it.
