Hello,

what a wonderful site this is. I've been looking and posting a bit, but thought I'd better say hello properly.

I live in the welsh valleys, near Caerphilly (of cheese renown). I have 4 children, a grandson and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Gypsy.

My passion is gardening, and I have one and a half allotments and 2 greenhouses to keep me busy.

l like cooking, and am always on the lookout for vegan recipes for my son. My husband and I are vegetarian.

One day, I hope to get a house with enough land to give up my allotment and grow all my own at home. Oh, and have an orchard, rehome some battery hens, have a wind turbine, a waterwheel..........well, you've got to dream

Somewhere a bit drier and warmer would be nice.

i go there on holiday alot, and it usally rains when we are there, and when we set of home it cheers up

Funny, usually, when we cross the Severn Bridge back into Wales, it starts raining

Rain has stopped for a bit now, and the night sky is very clear. Just walked the dog; it was freezing

According to the weatherman, just about everywhere in UK is going to get colder next week

I am in sunny Brisbane Australia but sometimes long for a cold rainy day
I also have a Cavalier named Gypsy she is Tricolour
I try hard to be self sufficient but can get lazy now and then

My Gypsy is a tri too. How old is she? Mine is 5.

She is overweight,(12kg where she should be 8!) but not because she eats a lot, and she gets walked twice a day (although I'm sure the vet doesnt believe us ). I think her problem is lazyness. Why move if you can get away with it?

How does Gypsy cope with the heat out there?

I'll see if I can dig out a pic and try posting it.

Hi from Ireland, Caroline!

Sunny today, but the ground has held the water, so wellies are the usual footwear for me!

We have a cavvy too - Charlie, an ex-rspca dog - he's overweight too, but has a heart murmur, so most of his weight issues are fluid related & our vet says it's best to keep him comfy for as long as possible, bless him.
He sleeps 25 hours a day - or he would if he could!! Usually found on the rug in front of the range.......
