Yet Another New One
Yet Another New One
Hello, my name is Sam.
I'm 18 and in my final year of college at the moment.
I study Animal Management, and this is where my fascination with self-sufficiency began. I love working with the animals at college, the livestock that is as we have exotic animals and small mammals which I don't much see the point of.
Some of the animals we have at college are Sussex mixes and Jacob sheep, Pygmy and a Brittish breed of goat I forgot the name of, Berkshire, Gloucester Old Spots & Kune Kune Pigs, Poland, Orpington & Andalusian chickens, Emus, Rheas, Llamas and some Dexter Cattle.
I am not sure what it is I want to do once I leave college, but I'm looking for inspiration.
I work at Marks & Spencer, who until recently, I did not realise were doing so much to be good.
I live in South Bucks, East Berks and plan to move in with my partner in Bournemouth in the summer.
It is in Bournemouth we have 6 rabbits + and some chickens. I am beginning to prepare the garden for self sufficiency so when i move down it will be in full swing. A vegetable patch has already been prepared by my partners friend a horticulturist and he has a cherry and pear tree in the garden already.
I am more than happy to hear some tips about how to ease into it, infact this is the reason I'm here, to further my knowledge using your help.
Thank You!
