Réchauffé

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Réchauffé

Réchauffé / Réchauffée

I have just found this word in an old cookery book. According to the free dictionary it means
1. Warmed leftover food.
2. Old material reworked or rehashed.

Just thought other Ishers might like it too. :sunny:

Certainly glams up second day dinners.

'What's for dinner?'

'Tonight, my darling, we dine upon Rechauffe'

definitely sounds better than:

'leftovers'

Oh my dear Rosendula, in current French vernacular it has these meanings and more. It's all in the eyebrows....

But I agree, soooo much better than "reheated"
