Re: Watering
Any bottle will suffice........ but be aware, 'cos a "slow dripping tap" will release a lot more than 1 litre per week. If you're looking to drip-feed something, then why not utilise the over-flow pipe from a water butt.
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
Re: Watering
I'm growing all my veg in containers and looking for a temporary low cost watering system.
The most important aspect is to cover times when I forget or don't get around to it!!!! So it is just a back up system.

Re: Watering
For my house plants I use a bottle waterer: just cut the bottom off the bottle, and put a tiny slit in the lid. Bury it next to the plant so it forms a funnel, and fill with water. Watch it at first, if its draining too fast drop a small dirt clump in it. If by the next day the water level hasn't changed, reach inside with a knife and stab another slit in the side.
You can almost see it in my Ishmas tree pot: http://www.selfsufficientish.com/forum/ ... 7&start=15
