Someone to do talk

Post: # 14519Post ChukkieLou »

I am looking for someone to come and do a talk to our new group on allotment keeping, preferably in the Leics/Notts area.
Expenses would be paid

Err.... we would if we could. You'd be more than welcome but somehow I don't think the £35 we raised on our first night will cover that some how!

Jayne,
Leicester City Council website has details of an allotments officer Paul Howgill, who may be able to help or point you in the direction of someone who can. Also you may want to try Environ who run gardening/allotment courses. There may also be something on the Leicestershire County Council website too.
How did your first meeting go? It sounds interesting but I'm on the other side of Leicester to you, so maybe a bit of a trek.

Thanks for the advice.
Paul Howgill-now there by hangs a tale as I have 'phoned him four times now. The first three times his wife said he would call me and the fourth time I left a message on his answer 'phone. I spoke to someone at our first meeting and she even passed a message and my number on to him-still havn't heard from him.....
I tried our local council but they didn't seem to know what I was on about-all they anted to know was did I need a talk on kirb side collections!
Anyway, I shall try Environ-thank you
