Rantings from Leicester

Post: # 14875Post Ranter »

Hi all,
I've looked at this forum, on & off a lot over the last year, for advice on things I'm trying to achieve at home. Finally registering as I now have more time (not working) & must add to the supersistion thread started elsewhere.

I live in a terraced house in the heart of the city, so self-sufficiency options are limited. I've worked on making my house as eco-friendly as poss. & grow tomatoes, herbs & (last year) french beans in pots in my small 'courtyard garden'. Or backyard to be more accurate.

I'd love an allotment, but I have chronic fatigue syndrome so wouldn't be able to manage one. I'm making lots of plans though, for when I recover.

Looking forward to talking to y'all at last.

another lurker, seem to slowly come out of the woodwork eventually  Welcome to the forum glad you made the plunge and joined in.

Sympathy is with you for your condition my girlfriends mother suffered for a couple of years as did one of my best friends, both are very well now though and have been since. Lets hope you recover sooner rather than later.

G'day Ranter and welcome,

I have never had it myself, but it sounds pretty nasty, please accept my wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hiya Ranter :hello2: this site is indeed a wealth of information & so many warm welcoming people here to share your thoughts & ideas.

Sometimes smaller places like a small court yard have their advantages - maybe it is just me but i am more creative & work better under pressure :)

Hi Ranter and welcome. There's plenty of stuff you can grow in pots in a small courtyard garden without all the hard work of digging etc. Let us know how you get on!

Thanks for all the good wishes - feels as if I've made a whole load of new friends overnight.

I stopped being ashamed of my ranting when I discovered the Ranters where a group in 17th century England who opposed the prevailing dogma of religious observance - doing so was extremely brave in that climate. Since I learned this, I have ranted with pride.

Hi Ranter

Thanks for that info on the historical ranters - that makes me feel better, too, I often feel like a good rant!

Hi Ranter. I'm in Leicester too, and what a beautiful day it is today here. Your garden/backyard sounds nice, and I bet it's really productive.
