Insect Des Res

Post: # 157222Post windy »

Saw this on one of the showgardens at the Gardeners World Show...

Image

Looks easy enough to build and thought it would be a good project to do with the spawns. Anyone any ideas on where to site it to make it appealing to the widest range of insects?
It's funny how such a ruthless and sadistic maniac such as Vyvyan should care for a Begonia.

We were told to site ours out of cold winds & preferably facing East so the insects can warm up in the morning Sun

Im still contemplatin where to site mine?? Struggling with the East facing bit..and struggling even more with the wind-free bit  Have started collecting bits together though, got loads of pine cones on a walk yesterday and have loads of random bits of wood and bricks dotted about the place. Dont think mine will be as pretty as that one though somehow

Luxury apartment for insects - how posh...

I used to have a little one, ages ago (10 house moves ago or so  ). This has reminded me to get myself one again - most of my house is east facing, so it shouldn't be a problem!

Anybody know what that green stuff is - not the grass, the stuff with the three yellow tubes in it?
