Are those Potimarrons on the table by any chance ?
I have about 15 small to medium sized ones growing and I wondered how big they get, and how much usable flesh there is inside (after discarding the pips)
As there is only the two of us, I'm not sure that I should allow any more to grow.

I'm not sure Annpan but I'm glad this topic came back to remind me personally what works if I want a picture to actually show on the forum!!!

Tony - yes Potimarrons, I think 15 is more than enough for 2! They can range in size like the ones on the table, the biggest is usually not much more than a football. Flesh inside much the same as pumpkin generally, should have about 1" to 2" of flesh depending on size of the potimarron - not like butternuts which are more solid fleshed. But believe me there is plenty inside one of them!

Thanks, that's what I thought you would say.
I will chop all new growth off then, especially as I have 2 butternut plants just starting to flower as well.
We like squash but there is a limit to how many you can eat.

Have you tried eating immature potimarrons like courgettes ?

No - I didn't know you could and what they'd taste like. Have you tried with other varieties?
