I'm So Unhappy!

I'm sitting here in tears.

My eldest son, Jason, and his partner Mike are being extradited to Hungary today, accused of fraud!

I'm too upset to explain it here but if you read the blog http://www.freemikeandjason.co.uk you will see why I am so upset.

I've even been doing housework to keep myself busy!!

Wow, that seems rather extreme.

I can't really comment on the ins and outs of their business but I suppose it's always difficult trading in a foreign country where the legal systems are so different from anything you know already.

All I can say is that there are now people here thinking about you and wishing you well. Hungary is now in the EU so hopefully the case will be properly examined and dealt with. I hope that might help a little bit...

I've bumped this back to the top of the list because I'm just so amazed that these two are getting such awful treatment in somewhere which is an EU country and which should surely be bound by more or less the same human rights rules as the rest of the countries involved? I've been following the blog attached to the original post and it seems they will be there for some time yet.

I have no real opinions on their business and what got them into this mess in the first place but what is bothering me is that this body called SOCA is bowing down and letting this happen and so they are being treated like the hardened criminals the legislation was put into place to deal with and not a couple of chaps whose business went wrong.

I've written to the MP mentioned on the blog just to encourage him to ask some questions.

Thanks for your good wishes.

My MP and the local MEP are very concerned about the treatment of my son and are making urgent representations to ministers.

I am on automatic pilot at the moment. Can't concentrate on anything.

A trip to London is being arranged so we can all descend on the Hungarian Embassy!

My poor daughter in law! She is trying to make things as normal as possible for the children, bless her. Not an easy task when you are screaming inside!

If the business had folded in this country they wouldn't have been thrown into prison without any charge against them!
