What you mean they don't have savs oop north? What about pickled eggs in a big jar on the counter?

And you're another one who I thought was a northerner and is really a Londoner in disguise.

Yep, some chippies have the pickled eggs... :pale:

I got a vacuum pack of saveloys on a rare trip home once - as a birthday present for a fellow southerner - he loved 'em!

At the tender age of 37, moving to Blackpool was the first time I'd been north of Watford - what a surprise! I thought it was going all like coronation street...
And then I marry a 'smoggie' from Middlesbrough, ahaha!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

Ha ha Julie you're just like me (gosh the northerners on this site will hate us!) - I had to go to Stockton on Tees for a wedding in my early twenties and imagined 'the north' to be entirely like Coronation Street too. I was absolutely amazed that there was green and countryside around Darlington/Stockton. I really thought the industrial north would be a concrete jungle - everywhere! Instead it is the south where we come from that is more like that!

MMM when I went on a school trip to London I expected it to look like the Dickensian streets of 'Oliver!' complete with urchins down dark alleys!!!

(I grew up in a village in Nottinghamshire)
