I bet that jam's gorgeous. On a similar theme I've just sorted the softest sloes from sloe gin, squashed the stone out of each one by hand. Mixed the fruit into melted chocolate and poured it into a shallow container to set. I'd imagine damsons could be used in the same way.

after making damson vodka... i used the stone fruits..dipped in chocolate.. to make my own liqueur chocs....
